Coach supervision
How do you know you need supervision?
The first impulse should be the ambition to become a good coach. Whether you are just starting or have many years of coaching behind you, now is the time! For a better idea, on the right handside you can find several selected topics that other coaches came up with. However, there are many more of these topics, diverse topics open up to us with each different client.
Do any of the listed topics resonate with you? Or do you want to discuss anything else? Come and meet me without obligation and we will discuss whether supervision is the right choice for you.
I want to better understand what I am like as a coach.
I need emotional support.
The client evokes unexpected emotions in me.
I deal with dilemmas regarding ethical issues.
I work with clients who have antagonistic demands.
I try to fulfill the client's requirements at any cost.
What does supervision mean for me?
For me, supervision is a meeting at a professional level in which two colleagues, i.e. a coach and a supervisor, consult the coach's practice and the challenges he/she faces. The goal is to improve the quality of coaching practice, ensure ethical standards and support personal and professional growth. Through supervision, there is better understanding and interaction between coach and client.
To me, supervision is synonymous with cultivating a coaching community. I believe that every professional coach should have a supervisor to provide support and another point of view.
How does supervision work?
Each meeting we get on the same page and start defining goals. This is important in determining the direction of your growth. The topics you want to discuss can be prepared in advance, but most will result from the discussion. We will discuss everything from joint examination of your coaching situations to your personal feelings or parallel processes that take place between you and clients.
The course of supervision can take place individually, in a small group or online. It is important that the supervision is focused on your needs and provides concrete support for your growth.
What are the principles of supervision?
The goal of supervision is to improve your professional and personal growth as a professional coach. The function of supervision is to create a safe environment for opening up about difficult topics you encounter. We will discuss together the ethical responsibility of coaches and try to broaden your point of view on commonly solved problems, because the world is more complex and colorful than we sometimes think.
The supervision process is not only one-sided, but two-sided. In working life and in supervision, we are equal partners who move each other forward. As a supervisor, I am ready to give you space for reflection, offer feedback and support to further improve your coaching skills and awareness.

How do my clients see me?
The biggest reward for me is seeing the progress and development of my clients.

Supervisions with Petra are conducted on both a friendly and professional level in a pleasant atmosphere important for reflecting on one's own professional challenges. For my part, I see the importance of support as well as another perspective that opens the door for insight into other levels of my practice. With Petra you can open all the doors, peek inside and at the same time decide if I want to explore further or if it is safe to close.

It is a great honor that we are working with such a professional as Petra. In a very humane and gentle way, she gives you space to discover the answers you are carrying within yourself. Petra is human, kind and definitely special. You will want to "take her home" after the supervision is over. 😊

coach, managing director of AIK organisation (2023-2024)
If you are looking for a perceptive, extremely bright, and supportive guide for your professional development, I recommend Petra. The meetings with her were full of valuable realizations. I am still haunted by the memory of mapping out the different roles I get into with a client when coaching. This awareness helps me to consciously choose the most appropriate role with added value for the client when coaching. I indulged in a number of supervision sessions with Petra in 2022.
Let's meet
For the first time I recommend an informative meeting. It will be an opportunity to get to know each other and get on the same page. We'll discuss whether coaching, mentoring or supervision is right for you. If we decide to continue, we have the option to meet online or in person, either is welcome. Although who doesn’t like a great coffee and a face to face chat.
I look forward to our inspiring meeting!
